A new improved version of the Wave Emergency lamp is now available with a feature called . It's a fallout from the continuous feedback from customers which has triggered this new variant. The XtraBright Wave Emergency lamp is equipped with switchable LEDs to have control on the amount of light required in the user area. The PCB also has an extra coating of reflecting material to enhance the light emitted out. XtraBright Would be atleast 2.5x brighter than the Basic Wave Lamp.

The PCB designed is a blend of art work and technology. It has in built cooling pads as well has intricate routing required for the complex design.

Our continuous R&D to improve the product has a new flavor. The Wave Emergency Lamp is now available with a new feature Wave MobiCharge
This Wave MobiCharge incorporates mobile charging for all types of mobiles Nokia, Sony Ericsson, HTC, Samsung, LG and so on. There are 2 modes in the Lamp, one for Emergency lamp and other for Mobile charging. The feature could be used to charge mobile phones for free if the lamp is charged using solar panel. The charging is also very fast and can fully recharge a 3.7V/500mAH battery within 2 hrs.
The Wave MobiCharge has an indicator LED which would be in ON state when the mobile charging mode is selected. Once the mobile phone is connected, then the LED would start blinking to indicate the charging process and at fully charged condition, the LED does not glow.
Usage Areas :
1. At homes both in urban & rural areas, when you would want to charge your mobile but there is no electricity supply
2. Urban & Rural areas where this could be used as a primary charging mechanism using Solar panels.
3. Trekking and hiking expeditions where there is need for both light and mobile charging.

PROBLEMS IN CURRENTLY AVAILABLE EMERGENCY LAMPS
This lamp has been designed keeping in mind the problems faced by users with existing emergency lamps in the market. Most of the emergency lamps available in the markets these days are either CFL based or LED based. LED based being dominated by cheap Chinese stuff which don't carry any good quality or reliability. CFL based lamps or LED based lamps have this problem of battery being of poor quality and unreliable charging methods which destroys the battery within 2-3 months of purchase.
Charging Indications
Most existing solutions for Emergency Lamps just have a Red LED to indicate that the charging is in progress, while the user doesn't know when to switch off the charging. This normally leads to overcharging problems & battery failure.
All these problems were analyzed with many different users and the design of this Wave Emergency Lamp started.
SOLUTION THRO' WAVE DESIGN EMERGENCY LAMP
To overcome all the above stated problems, our LED based Emergency Lamp has been provided with
extremely reliable charging mechanism which has been testing over time to prove it's efficiency, 24 hours of Solid Back up & Wave EYE technology to switch on the light only when required to save battery life.
- The light produced is a source of pure WHITE light.
- A scattering effect is employed in the lens of the lamp to achieve good dispersion throughout the installed place and is also soothing to the eyes.
- A solar panel is also provided to charge the system, effectively giving you a Zero usage charge.
Charging Solution & LED indications to observe charging and battery life
Wave Emergency Lamp has a unique charging mechanism wherein a Red LED shows the state of charging. It would be glowing very brightly when the battery is in a state of full discharge and slowly the intensity of the LED comes down, when the battery is getting fully charged. The Red LED would stop glowing once the battery has been fully charged. This will indicate to the User to stop charging however even if left on charging after full charge for days or months or even a year, no harm would be done on the battery which I guarantee as this design follows a charging profile aptly suitable for the used battery which is recommended by Panasonic.
A green LED indicates battery getting discharged. Whenever the battery is fully discharged, the green light would still be glowing to indicate that the battery is in good condition. Whenever the green LED goes out it means battery needs to be replaced. This can happen in 2 or 3 years of initial use.

Hi Shayana, very interesting thing Solar lanterns can be great replacement for kerosene/gas lamps/lanterns. For the people living in cities, they may be seen as just another emergency light. solar_lampBut, for the poor or people in villages, they could mean ‘more light, no smoke, no fuel cost and less fire accidents’. Hawkers/street side vendors, people who start work in the farms before sunrise (eg. flower collectors), All the very best and let it be very much required product.

This is a very good product in fact its a very useful product i have seen. This will surely hit the other products in rural market. This is very useful for students due to frequent power cuts during their exams.The farmers also can make use of this product as it is one time investment and free of maintainance due to solar backup.

Looks like an interesting product. The portability and the power efficient LED definitely gives an edge over other products. Also the Solar panel is an added advantage when significantly reduces the power consumption. This is ideal for rural area where there is hardly any power during summer. The pricing is also economical.
I think some of the main customer expectation would be:
1. Reliability of the product
2. Low maintenance
3. Servicing/Product support

True Babu.. Even though this Emergency lamp is different from the ones present in the market, the looklike ones are available and to channelise the marketing to reach more people is the biggest challenge.
I am in talks with dealers and NGO's to reach the rural segments. Also people from rural areas who want to market this product in their region. Ebay is also one of the options I have in mind. My deliveries have started this week and looking forward to complete the order backlog by Apr 2nd week.

This product will Rock!! Very good idea and technology. This will definitely help for the people in rural areas since it is cost effective. Obviously in urban since this emergency lamp can easily replace table lamps, thereby helping the students too.
